Karting Event 2016 in Plymouth

You'd be forgiven for thinking that the highlight of the motorsport calendar on the weekend of 1 October 2016 was the eventful Malaysian F1 Grand Prix.

It was, in fact, the Backline Corporate Karting event at Plymouth Karting - a 2 hour endurance race consisting of 10 teams from Kay Transport, Intercounty Distribution, Travis Perkins, Bradfords Building Supplies, Burdens, Hackworthy & Sons and, of course, Backline.

Competition was hot - with just a single second between the fastest laps of the fastest and slowest teams.

Ultimately, it was the Travis Perkins team who were crowned Kings of the Karts, with a grand total of 190 laps in the allocated time. Sam White, one half of the champion duo, also secured the fastest overall lap with a time of 0:19.718.

Second place went to Kay Transport (186 laps) and taking Bronze were the hosts, just 4 seconds behind, also with 186 laps - although they did have 3 laps deducted for bad behaviour at various points throughout the race which cost them 2nd place!

A big thank you to all the participants who made the event, we're looking forward to the next one already!
