We Made AITT!
Having delivered Materials Handling Equipment training for many years under the ITSSAR banner, we have taken the decision to transfer our accreditation to another of the four Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) members.
The ABA was originally set up in 2012, and works closely with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to produce recognised standards for training.
What does “Accredited” training mean?
By offering accredited training, you can be assured that the training you or your employees receive meets the HSE approved standards that have been adopted by the ABA members.
Each piece of equipment has a syllabus detailing the information that should be passed on to the operator (or supervisor) and there are common testing standards across the board to ensure that all operators can demonstrate an appropriate level of theoretical knowledge and practical skill sufficient to operate the equipment safely.
Who have we changed to, and why?
Our accreditation for MHE training is now with the Association of Industrial Truck Trainers (AITT).
AITT are a membership organisation, where the experience and expertise of all its members are used to facilitate continuous improvement of processes for training.
Additionally, as their focus is targeted more on the type of equipment that we offer training for – ITSSAR also offer a wide range of courses on construction type equipment – we felt that it would allow us to further improve the overall experience for our clients and candidates.
What practical difference will it make?
The main difference that candidates will notice are a slight change to the layout of course paperwork – if they’ve trained with us before – and a different logo on the certificates.
As far as recognition is concerned, AITT is equally as widely recognised as ITSSAR – primarily because they both work to the common ABA standards for training and testing.
