HGV Hiab operator with some hire desk duties
Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.
You must have a HGV licence and hold a current Hiab certificate. There will be some office duties, as required, working on the hire desk.
Must have transport due to location.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a crane lorry. Hold a current Hiab certificate
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Load and unload stores and accommodation units, ensuring proper securing and handling of items.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or damages.
- Communicate effectively with manager and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Assist with hire desk duties as needed, including speaking to customers on the telephone, monitoring emails and organizing delivery schedules.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a truck driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical operations and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to operate lorry mounted crane is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to load and unload cargo as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
