Backline Training Enters Exciting New Partnership

Backline’s Training Division – a long standing provider of various materials handling, driver CPC and hazardous goods training has recently entered an exciting new partnership with licence acquisition training company MT Training Services.

Established in 2007, MT Training provides training for all commercial driving licence categories (BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1 and D) throughout a geographical area that almost exactly mirrors Backline’s traditional coverage area.

Through this partnership, Backline will now be able to offer licence acquisition training to aspiring HGV and PCV drivers across the South West. With pre-existing sites in Plymouth, Taunton, Bristol, Tewksbury and Kidderminster, the partnership has been marked with the launch of an additional training centre in Exeter – operating out of Backline’s Exeter Outbase facility.

Sam Hay, Backline’s Training Manager said:

“It’s a partnership that just made complete sense – MT have the knowledge, experience and expertise in providing the licence acquisition training, whilst we have the knowledge, experience and expertise in delivering all the training that naturally follows on from that.”

I actually took my Class 2 licence with MT – so I’m confident that it’s a partnership we can be proud of. They’ve got decent kit and they got me a first-time pass so that speaks for itself!”

It means exciting times for MT Training, too, who can now expand their training offering to include Forklift, HIAB, Hazardous Goods and various other options, all of which will be highly relevant to their client base.

We asked Tony Collinson, MT Training’s owner and founder, what attracted him to the partnership:

MT Training has grown from strength to strength over the last 14 years, now one of the largest LGV training providers nationwide running a fleet of over 25 vehicles over 9 locations. I am delighted to team up with Backline offering a robust quality service across their geographical area and offer their specialist training to our customer base. This is an exciting venture for both companies and it’s a fantastic opportunity to expand into Exeter on a permanent full time basis.
