Following the introduction of the most recent national restrictions on movement and business activities, we would like to provide clarity regarding Backline’s operations during this period.

 

The government’s guidance on which businesses can open includes the Transport and Recruitment services sector supporting supermarkets, pharmacies, petrol stations, post offices and banks.

 

This decision will enable Backline to continue to deliver the essential services to all customers. These include but are not limited to the NHS and local government, as well as those delivering food and other essential supplies to communities throughout the UK.

 

We want to take this opportunity to assure you that we remain committed to playing our part in keeping Britain’s essential services moving. We are aware that organisations may require additional drivers at short notice and we are ready to help.

 

Our ‘ready to go’ pledge remains in place.

 

The importance of self-isolation and guidance for anyone displaying symptoms can be challenging in our businesses. That’s why we have emergency-ready drivers, in good health, on stand-by to step in at late notice, every day.

 

Our experienced team continue to be fully operational, working safely – manning your local branch number  24/7. All our consultants can provide advice and guidance to help solve your problems as and when they happen – many are experienced drivers themselves. No voicemails. You will only ever speak to someone who knows what they (and you) are talking about –day or night.

 

We have social distancing policies in place across all of our branch locations and within host sites. PPE, hygiene and cleaning guidance (and provisions) have been established to ensure safe handover for drivers including disinfecting cabs prior to/during shift and access to hygiene and welfare facilities wherever possible.

 

In addition to the health implications, coronavirus has had a significant economic impact on our local community. We are proud to be one of the few industry employers to offer our elite drivers full-time PAYE contracts, which provide peace of mind during this difficult time.
