BACKLINE EXPANDS TRAINING & PROMOTES SENIOR TRAINER TO SPEARHEAD THE GROWTH OF THE DIVISION

It’s been a positive start to 2022 for the Backline Training team as they continue to expand their offering and focus on the future growth of the business.
Richard Stentiford, a highly experienced and accomplished senior trainer has stepped up to spearhead the division and expand the business into new territories, including Bridgwater and Yeovil.

Richard has been a part of the Backline family for over 22 years. Starting his career as an HGV2 driver and then obtaining his HGV1 licence. Richard was then recruited into the office as a consultant before becoming branch manager in Plymouth. From there he moved into training and is now their most experienced trainer.

“Richard has an extensive understanding of the business, as a driver and as a trainer and was the obvious choice to spearhead the continued growth of the division,” said Julian White, Chief Operating Officer at Backline Logistics.

As part of their growth plans, Richard is actively recruiting trainers to support the teams in Avon and Christchurch. Plus to reflect his experience within Backline, he is keen to recruit and develop those who are looking to upskill and take on new challenges, some of those areas would be MOFFETT, FKLT CB/Reach/Pivot, A1/A5 Pallet truck MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) Slinger Signaller, Overhead crane, CPC, ADR.

“We have been fortunate enough to enjoy sustained growth over the past few years within the Training Division at Backline. With the industry under increased pressure competing for the best, more experienced and skilled drivers, this trend is only set to continue.

It’s really promising for the transport and logistics industry as it shows how dedicated individuals and organisations are at investing in developing and broadening their driving skills. This can only serve to raise the standards of those on the road, keeping the wheels of Britain moving,” added Richard.
