Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team.
This is a temp to perm tole for the right candidate.
There will be some handballing so you will need to be physically fit.
This role involves mainly delivering across the south of England.
As a Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations, ensuring that all transport regulations are adhered to. This role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction.
Good people skills are required as you will be delivering to customers and are the face of the company.
Duties
- Operate a Class 2 vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (CPC) with a clean driving record.
- Experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed lorries.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.
