Summary
Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Class 2 (Category C) HGV Multi-Drop Driver to join our Basingstoke cross-dock operation.
This is a day-based role with no nights out required, focused on delivering to stores and home delivery customers within planned routes.
Drivers will play a key role in the operation and will be responsible for loading and unloading their own vehicles, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency throughout the delivery process.
Responsibilities:
- Complete multi-drop deliveries to customers and company stores in line with planned routes
- Load and unload your own vehicle, ensuring goods are secured and handled correctly
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with legal and company standards
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, on time, and in good condition
- Accurately check deliveries against paperwork or handheld devices
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service at every delivery point
- Maintain compliance with Driver Hours, Tachograph regulations, and Working Time Directive (WTD)
- Complete all delivery documentation (PODs, returns, discrepancies) accurately
- Liaise with the cross-dock team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Keep the vehicle clean, roadworthy, and presentable at all times
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Minimum 2 years’ Class 2 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph card
- Proven multi-drop delivery experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of UK road networks and national geography
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
Requirements:
- Comfortable with manual handling and physically demanding work
- Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy or bulky items safely
- Capable of bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting in line with Health & Safety guidelines
- Willingness to take full responsibility for vehicle loading and unloading.
