Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to fulfil the role of Van driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely while maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting our logistics and warehouse operations. The role requires a strong focus on safety, organisation, and customer service.
Monday to Friday 07:00 start
Some lifting required.
This could lead to a temp to perm vacancy with Backline Exeter.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class B (van) vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Deliver goods to various locations promptly and accurately
- Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times
- Assist in warehouse tasks such as stock organisation, inventory checks, and order preparation when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles
- Valid Class B driver’s licence with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or routes as needed

The Pay:
- PAYE £13.00 per hour minimum
- 28 days holiday accrued per year (pro-rata)
