Health & Safety Training

Through accreditation with two of the four ABA accrediting bodies – AITT and NPORS – Backline are able to offer a number of Health & Safety related training courses as outlined below.

 

These courses will assist employers in meeting their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act (1974); Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations (1998); Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999) and Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (1981).

 

AITT / (NPORS) Category Description
R8 (N402) – Slinger / Signaller A slinger / signaller is responsible for slinging loads to be lifted as part of a lifting operation and for providing instruction to the crane or lifting equipment operator.
S2 (N133 / N403) – Plant / Vehicle Marshall A plant / vehicle marshal is responsible for giving instruction to drivers/operators of mobile plant and/or vehicles moving around a site.
Other Training
Description
EFAW (1 day)
Emergency First Aid at Work training – suitable for low risk environments or higher risk environments where delegates will be acting in a support role to more qualified First Aiders. This course is eligible for 7 hours CPC.
FAW (3 days novice / 2 day refresher)
First Aid at Work training – suitable for delegates working in higher risk environments (e.g. where machinery is being operated). This course is eligible for 7 hours CPC.
ADR Awareness
Awareness training for the handling of hazardous goods. Suitable for transport supervisors, route planners, warehouse supervisors and operatives or drivers of loads containing hazardous goods which do not fall under the scope of ADR regulations. This course is eligible for 7 hours CPC.
Manual Handling
Covering the correct procedures when manually handling items to minimise the risk of personal injury. This course is eligible for 3.5 hours CPC.
