Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in refuse driving and will be responsible for the safe and timely collection of goods. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency while on the road. You must be able to work in a team and lifting will be required.
Monday to Friday 6am start (7.5 hours Monday to Thursday, 7 hours on Friday
If there is a bank holiday Monday you will be required to work on Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Operate dust cart to transport goods to various locations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to safety and transportation.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C) with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items and securing loads.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
