Job Overview
We are seeking a Class 2 driver with Hiab experience (current licence preferred but not essential).
You will be delivering goods to sites across the South West. Some hand balling so physical fitness is essential.
Hours: 6.45am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. One Saturday morning per month.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with company policies as well as local, regional, and national regulations regarding transportation.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any client concerns professionally.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving is essential.
- A valid HGV licence is required, along with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients and colleagues alike.
