Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently. This role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional service while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
You will be working with a drivers mate who will operate required equipment. The truck is left hand drive.
The role will be until March but could be temp to perm for the right candidate with additional training.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries to transport goods to various locations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any client concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (C) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items and securing loads.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
