Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV 1 Driver to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and preferably experience of bulk blowing. This role is essential for ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods to various locations.
As a HGV Driver, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction.
This role is on a rota 4 out of 6 and based on a 44 hour week.
Some shifts may be up to 13 hours.
This is a temp to perm position for the right person.
£35,000 per annum minimum
Duties
- Operate lorries safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Execute deliveries of goods, ensuring that all items are loaded and unloaded correctly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Ensure that cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
