Materials Handling Training
As set out in the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998), any employee who is required to use work equipment – defined by the act as “any equipment, machinery, appliance, apparatus, tool or installation for use at work.” – MUST be provided with appropriate training.
Appropriate training is not defined in law. However, the Health & Safety Executive recognises the training standards set by the Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) for work equipment.
