Description
Class 2 Hiab Driver - temp to perm
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck Driver to join our customer based in Paignton. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of cargo.
You will need a current Hiab licence and be able to handball materials as required.
Training will be given.
Hours Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (40 hours)
Annual wage £30,000.00 plus
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, securing cargo appropriately for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety and conduct while on the road.
- Assist with route planning to optimise delivery efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred.
- Valid commercial driving licence (Class C)
-Hiab experience and a current licence.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service during deliveries.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary.
